With the news this week that the Rideau Canal Skateway has closed for the season and warmer temperatures in the forecast, it feels like we’re slowly but surely making our way towards spring. This weekend we’ve got an exciting mix of St. Patrick’s Day festivities and March break activities.

Will March be coming in like a lion or a lamb? We will find out this weekend either way! With the temps dropping again, we may return to our favourite winter activities, like mountain goating over downtown snow banks and skating on the canal. If you’d rather be indoorsy, we have you covered.

If you are looking to get out of the house this weekend, there is definitely lots going on, both Christmas themed and not. Winter is coming! In Ottawa, that usually also means the holiday events are coming, so this weekend the twinkle lights, carolling, and festivities are really getting started, but there is plenty of non-Santa related culture happening, so strap in!

Last weekend may have brought us an extra hour of sleep, but we are now playing in dark mode for the foreseeable future, so don’t squander away those precious daytime hours and enjoy yourself this weekend.
