Ottawa Craft Beer Week (OCBW) is back, and as lots of us continue to think local, and support local Canadian businesses, this is the perfect opportunity to explore the best beers in the city. Building on last year’s success, the second edition of the week long celebration follows the same, simple model to make it easy to try new beers, meet new brewers and find your next favourite hangout.
Ottawa Craft Beer Week aims to highlight the creativity and diversity of Ottawa’s craft beer scene while fostering a sense of community and collaboration. Taking place from August 23-30, there is no fee to participate, and you can even win prizes by filling out your free passport with stamps as you work your way across the city.
This Saturday, October 1, Flora Hall Brewing celebrates their fifth anniversary with Flora Fest 5. From noon to close the brewpub will celebrate a half-decade in business with five new beer releases and live music from Funk-A-Tron 5000.
Quickly becoming the unofficial kickoff to summer in the east end, the Orleans Craft Beer Festival is back this weekend for its fourth instalment. Voted Ottawa’s favourite Craft Beer Festival in Faces Magazines’s awards, organizers have raised the bar (so to speak) with the number of local breweries and distillers at this year’s edition.
We’ve got a big weekend ahead. As Ottawa enters Stage 2 of reopening, we’ll also be celebrating 613 Day, a birthday party of sorts for Ottawa and Apt613.

The two-day architecture festival offers free access to more than 140 buildings around the capital region on June 2–3, 2018.
