Apt613 and OMIC are moving into a mobile studio for pop-up series on Ottawa’s new music strategy

Look for the Apt613 x OMIC pop-up in Lansdowne Park.

Beats and tweets and music chats. That’s broadly what Apartment613 and the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition will get up to when both teams move into closed quarters for a unique music and media collaboration beginning on September 1, 2018.

Our pop-up series at Lansdowne Park is going to involve a ton of music and multimedia creation, with a look toward raising awareness and support for Ottawa’s first official Music Strategy, approved by City Council in April 2018.

Follow #Pod613 to see inside.

Please do not knock if you see a “recording in progress” sign out front!

The door to Pod613 is going to be closed most of the time, while our volunteer teams are creating and learning about audio production, podcasting, live streaming, video, and editing.

Visits to the pod are by appointment only and all available work hours were booked weeks ago. Community interest in the pod has exceeded expectations in all ways! At the moment, Apt613 and OMIC are pursuing sponsorship and grants to hire additional program facilitators.

If you’re a podcast creator, videographer or artist who would like to book hours in the pod, please register on the Pod613 Wait List. We will contact community groups and individuals from the wait list if/when more hours can be funded.
