Shorthanded: A Ladies Game tells the story of eight women who play on a team in the Tri-County Old Timers Women’s Hockey League. The team makes it all the way to the final game of their hockey league’s championship game, only to discover that they are severely shorthanded. Directed, stage managed and starring an all-female cast, this play is a testament to the grit, talent and resilience of women—both on and off the ice.

Osée Kamga, an Afro-Canadian writer who lives in Rockland has created a comical novel that many people in Ottawa can relate to because it revolves around second-language training in the federal government. For their end-of-season performance, the Ottawa Pops Orchestra (OPO) will be shocking and surprising audiences for a top secret concert experience at the Carleton Dominion Chalmers Centre on April 20. Expect the Unexpected: A Musical Surprise hopes to attract both season regulars and newcomers not only to the OPO, but to the world of orchestra in general.
